When curating a classic wardrobe, there are two shades of wool coats I keep in my closet: camel, and grey (worn here). I like the option of switching between the two depending on what outfit I wear underneath. For early fall, I find that the warm camel color goes better with the season. In this post, I wanted to share some simple outfit combinations you can recreate with the wool camel coat.
Some of my favorite retailers for finding an affordable, but high-quality wool coat are J. Crew, and Mango. Luckily, they come out with similar versions each year that become consistent top-sellers. If you are on the hunt for a piece yourself, these are some I recommend.
In this outfit, I chose an easy monochrome look: camel coat, with beige dress pants and similarly-colored suede ankle booties. Matching becomes so effortless when you make camel the base color that the rest of your pieces coordinate around. (Also wearing my favorite dress pants from Aritzia’s Babaton line. Outfit Details: Camel Wool Coat (S) | Cotton Crew Neck (S) | Plaid Skirt (similar) | OTK Boots | Quilted Bag
The wool camel coat is so easy to dress up or down. For example, with a pair of faux leather leggings and sneakers, or a plaid skirt and OTK boots.
While I didn’t capture it for this post, I have dressed my coat with leggings and sneakers before. It’s not the look I usually go for, but it works! I hope this post inspires the way you style yours for the fall season.
