Owning a nice satin midi skirt or slip dress is key to building a feminine wardrobe. I adore the look. It’s classy and chic, inspired by the delicacy of lingerie, but a lot more demure. Much more than just a lustrous addition to your wardrobe, satin is a very versatile fabric, leaving you with many ways to style a midi skirt.

I’ll be honest, one thing that holds me back from wearing skirts is not having the right shoes to pair them with! In an ideal world, I’d love to wear them with a pair of pointy heels. But for a relaxing weekend stroll, that doesn’t feel practical. I took a fashion risk here by wearing my midi skirt with sneakers, and I actually kind of like it!

I shared two ways to style your midi skirt. However, given that it is such a delicate fabric, I recommend you hand-wash it rather than throw it into a laundry machine. (Especially so if you purchased a more expensive one with weightier fabric!)
Satin comes in different varieties of weight and finishes. Some are also textured, making the material prone to snagging. To prevent damage to a beautiful piece, wash gently by hand and dry it at home. Linking my earlier blog post on the types of fabric you should air-dry.
