This new year, I went back to a 5-day in-office schedule. With that, I’ve been eagerly experimenting with outfits that make getting dressed a breeze in the mornings. It’s always a balance between looking chic and staying warm and after trying a few different styles, I found that sweater pants meet all the criteria I was looking for. In this blog post, I round up all my favorite sweater pants for work that are so comfy that they made me ditch my denim!

I found this pair while shopping in Amsterdam, and fell in love with the leg-lengthening style. It comes with a matching sweater (bottom right image), which makes a lovely set. I ended up not getting it, as the slightly off-the-shoulder look was tricky to style. As an alternative, you can style these pants with a lady cardigan or cropped jacket.
I am wearing a size S in these pants. They run small and long. My usual inseam is 29″ and could have hemmed these by ~1″. Since knitted fabrics are tricker to alter, I pair these with a heeled boots or kitten heels.
My go-to ‘sock’ bootie are the Corinda Boots (reviewed HERE).
J. Crew is normally known for their cardigans (the Juliette Sweater Blazer, and Emilie Lady Jacket). But I am so glad they created sweater pants in a similar material! I stumbled upon two pant styles in stores, and would recommend these for work in a heartbeat.
This pair is more casual than the two I shared above, so use your discretion on whether to style these sweater pants for work. What I love is how effortless, and versatile the color options are. These pants also come with a matching cardigan if you want to create a set. The fabric is a breathable rayon-blend that is also machine-washable and static-free. On colder days, it’s also very easy to layer Heattech tights underneath for extra warmth.
I like to pair these pants with a slouchy cardigan and fitted top underneath. These pants are a straighter cut, with an adjustable drawstring. I am wearing a size S, and did not need to size down.
The more luxe option out of all the pieces I reviewed so far, my NEIWAI cashmere culottes take warmth to the next level. I find this pair to look best-suited for at-home loungewear. However, I’ve also worn these pants outdoors and they are warm enough as standalone pants in 20 to 30-degree weather with a longer overcoat.
These culottes run small at the waist, so if you are in-between sizes, I found sizing up to be the better fit. Another consideration is that these pants have a lot of static cling. As such, I try wearing lower cut shoes that reduce fabric contact.
If you don’t love the amount of maintenance that cashmere requires, try this 100% cotton style from Gap (new and comes in Black and Beige).
I hope you enjoyed this round up of sweater pants for work that are warm, and chic!
