Ever have those ‘dream’ pieces you’ve been wanting to fill in your wardrobe, but the perfect fit seems impossible to find? For me, it would be a pair of soft trousers. This style has really taken off in the past year, but unfortunately, the pleated front look just doesn’t work for me. One day, I decided to pop into Club Monaco to browse the latest collection. And bam! I found that a pair that worked. See my review below on how to style soft crepe trousers for spring, and thoughts on this beautiful pair!

Crepe is a common fabric used in spring and summer designs because it is lightweight, and has excellent drape. You might recognize it for having a ‘crimped and crisp’ surface texture. The way fabric mills achieve this look is either by using yarns with high twist, or special weaving and chemical techniques. These processes can help the fabric to bunch and crinkle, and create a rippled effect.
If there is any brand I can consistently count on for beautiful design and fabric choices, it is Club Monaco. I love the soft, feminine color palettes they use. And these High Rise Fluid Crepe Trousers are another well-loved addition to my wardrobe. The fabric is lightweight and breezy, and these pants have a sophisticated front-center seam. This design choice is perfect for those who find the pleated front to look awkward on them.
These pants run long. I am 5’6″ for reference, and the pants are just the right length, but I wouldn’t mind getting them hemmed by a half inch. I also sized down to a 00 because I wanted this pair to stay fitted through the waist and hips. For seasonal colors, this style comes in Oak (worn here – faded mossy green) and Soft Lavender (a soft petal pink).
