Sezane Ambre Shirt Review: Embroidered Top You Need for Spring

Sezane is every French-style lover’s dream, and I always look forward to their Spring drop. The brand’s romantic designs, and elaborate attention to detail are what make each piece so special. This time, I treated myself to the Sezane Ambre Shirt, and what makes it even more special is that I purchased it in their Marylebone, London shop! (I have better luck finding pieces in-stock in Europe than the NYC store, which is always a zoo on the weekends) This floral embroidered top has already received so many compliments, so I wanted to detail my fit and quality review in case it is on your wishlist.

Sezane Blouse (US 2) | White Jeans (US 2) | Handbag | Pearl Earrings (similar)

This blouse looks perfect with a pair of pearls, and I love the classic studs that The Pearl Source carries.

Sezane Ambre Shirt Fabric Review

What drew me to this piece is the oversized florals. I find this pattern to be so eye-catching, and the blue-ecru combo feels so refreshing for Spring!

Fabric: The fabric composition is a recycled polyester-organic cotton blend, and same for the thread used in the embroidery. I find the fabric to be weighty enough to allow for some structure, while resisting wrinkles. Note: The Ambre shirt comes in a few other colors with different fiber content, but this review is specifically for the blue-ecru combo.

Due to the oversized florals, I find that the embroidery adds a bit of weight to the fabric. However, it still feels breathable and cool enough for springtime weather. It is also not see-through, so you can wear it without needing a layer underneath.

Fit & Design

The Ambre Shirt has a straight cut that is still easy to tuck into a pair of high-waisted jeans. I purchased the top in my usual size (34 // US size 2).

I love the high-quality construction of this piece, delivered through these thoughtful features:

  • Elevated oversized buttons
  • Concealed button placket
  • Scalloped edge high-collar
  • Super subtle puff sleeves

Ways to Style Sezane’s Ambre Shirt

This Sezane Ambre Shirt review would not be complete without some tips on how to style it. But the good thing is that the top is so versatile and can be styled up or down. For the springtime, it would look so effortless with jeans, a slip skirt, or even over a jumpsuit / dress!
